Privacy Policy

Summary

Neither app collects, stores, or transmits any personal data to the developer. There is no server operated by the developer for anything to pass through, no analytics, and no third-party tracking code. What each app reads, it reads on your device, and sends only to the service you are already using.

musicRedux

Your music library and listening history

With your permission, musicRedux reads the songs in your Apple Music library, how often you have played them, the songs you have marked as favourites, and the playlists you have saved. This is how it works out which songs to look for other recordings of. This information is used on your device to decide what to search for, and is never sent to the developer.

Apple Music

To find other recordings, the app queries the Apple Music catalogue, and to save your playlists it writes them to your Apple Music library. These requests go directly from your device to Apple, using Apple's own MusicKit framework, and are governed by Apple's privacy policy rather than this one. The app communicates with no other service.

What is stored on your device

The app keeps a local cache of the artist catalogues it has already searched, so that repeat runs are faster, along with your chosen settings and a record of the tracks it has previously added to a playlist. All of this is stored inside the app's own container on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is deleted if you delete the app.

An Apple Music subscription

The app requires an active Apple Music subscription to function. Your subscription is between you and Apple; the developer has no visibility of it beyond whether the app is permitted to search the catalogue.

Account credentials

If you sign in to a GReader-compatible service (such as BazQux, FreshRSS, Miniflux, or The Old Reader), your username and password are sent directly from your device to that service's own servers to authenticate you. They are never sent to, or seen by, the developer. If you choose to save your credentials, they are stored only in your device's encrypted Keychain.

Feed and article data

Article content, read/unread status, and saved articles are synced directly between your device and the feed service you configured. If you use "Add feeds manually," the app fetches those RSS feeds directly from the sites that publish them. In both cases, this data does not pass through any server operated by the developer.

Third-party services

Any RSS sync service you connect to (BazQux, FreshRSS, Miniflux, The Old Reader, a self-hosted server, or any other GReader-compatible service) is operated independently of this app and has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data. Please review that service's policy separately.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

Neither app contains analytics, tracking, crash-reporting SDKs, or advertising of any kind. Neither includes any third-party code.

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised date below.
